Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Chashma, the southern Nuratau Range. R.R.Usmanov (Korsakov et al., 1993f.) The stratigraphic name not recommended for use.

Sandstones, gravelites, slates. Thickness more than 1000 m.

Age established conditionally by stratigraphic position. It is not excluded that it has a Paleozoic (Ordovician-Silurian) age. I.A.Pyanovskaya et al. (371) attributed it to the Kutambulak Fm (lower-middle Cambrian), Tansaray Fm (upper Silurian); A.I.Skakun et al. (1989f.) - to the Sartbulak Fm (lower Silurian); on the State Geol. Map-500 of Uzbekistan (460) conditionally attributed to the Vendian-lower Cambrian.
